As Governor Chris Christie prepares to officially announce his 2016 presidential run at Livingston High School on Tuesday, Democrat leaders took the opportunity to blast the prospect of the former Essex County resident’s White House aspirations on Monday.
During a conference call with the media, several prominent Democrats such as State Party Chairman John Currie and General Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto criticized the way that Christie has governed New Jersey.

“[Christie] has completely abandoned New Jersey and the disastrous economy that he’s created,” Currie said. “The bottom line is that no matter how low or offensive Chris Christie allows himself to be, he’s not telling it like it is, period. He’s just as arrogant as he’s always been.”
According to a media release, Christie’s announcement will take place in the LHS gymnasium, 30 Robert Harp Drive, at 11 a.m.
