Livingston Committee for Diversity Sponsoring Annual Martin Luther King, Jr., Celebration

Several events are scheduled to commemorate the life and achievements of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The Livingston Committee for Diversity will be sponsoring a pair of events commemorating the life and achievements of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The celebration will take place at the Livingston High School cafeteria on Monday, Jan. 19, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Members of the community are invited to participate in the celebration.

The Committee for Diversity asks that all participants bring donations of men’s clothing, coats, prom and special occasion dresses, and canned goods to be distributed to various charitable organizations, according to a news release from the committee.

The community is then invited to participate in singing “We Shall Overcome” during a march around the Oval at 5 p.m.
