Livingston Fire Report: Cat Rescued / Burning Leaves / Gas Odor / Utility Pole Fuse Blown / CO Alarms

Tuesday, October 13th – 4 Calls

13 Timber Hill Rd. - Report of CO alarm transmission, alarm was as result of power outage in area, no reading.

3 West Lawn Dr. - Reported power outage in area, found fuse blown on utility pole near #3 West Lawn. PSE&G was notified of outage.

24 Monmouth Ct. - Homeowner reported her CO alarm was activated; detector was unplugged prior to dept. arrival. No readings found in resid. Battery was replaced in unit; unit was plugged back in and functioning properly.

18 Elmwood Dr. - Report of gas odor on exterior of above residence. Found mark outs in street for possible dig job by PSE&G. Homeowner reported PSE&G was out in previous days. No readings found with meter.

Wednesday, October 14th – 2 Calls

3 Dorothy Ave. - Fire alarm transmission as result of steam from shower, homeowner advised and satisfied.

24 Beverly Pl. - Received a call of open burning in rear yard of residence, upon arrival homeowner was burning leaves. Homeowner advised of Twp. Ordinance prohibiting the burning of leaves and vegetation.

Thursday, October 15th – 2 Calls

6 Wildwood Dr. - Assisted animal control officer with removing a cat that was stuck under deck in rear yard. Removed three boards from the deck, cat walked out and homeowner satisfied.

31 Bennington Rd. - CO alarm transmission, found detector activated in basement due to contractor sanding. No reading found and system was reset.

Friday, October 16th – 1 Call

34 Chelsea Dr. - Fire alarm transmission, activation as result of burned food.

Saturday, October 17th – 5 Calls

5 Manor Rd. - Fire alarm transmission that was set off by steam. System was reset.

151 E. Northfield Rd. - Fire alarm transmission, FD was cancelled prior to arrival.

530 W. Mt. Pleasant Ave. - Report of mulch fire, found a small area smoldering and wet down.

28 Bearbrook Lane - Short in a gas heater due to no power in the residence. Power and gas was shut off to unit & PSE&G was notified.

76 E. Cedar St. - Fire alarm system malfunction and reset.

Sunday, October 18th – 4 Calls

30 Mounthaven Dr. - CO alarm transmission, due to low battery. Homeowner advised.

5 Tilden Ct. - Report of a smoke odor in garage, odor was from fireplace in area.

404 Kensington Lane - Fire alarm transmission, FD cancelled prior to dept. arrival.

2 Oakmont Ct. - Fire alarm transmission, resid. checked on exterior and nothing found.

Monday, October 19th – 3 Calls

650 So. Orange Ave. - Fire alarm transmission, found duct detector activated. Bldg. was checked and no problem.

315 E. Northfield Rd. - Report of occupant stuck in elevator, elevator car was empty. Elevator car appeared to be operational and no further action taken.

17 Oakwood Dr. - Report from homeowner that they smelled gas around stove. No readings were found with dept. meter. Found oven not working properly and unit was shut off. PSE&G notified and responding.
