The Livingston Health Department will offer a Flu Clinic for residents on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 from 4 pm to 7 pm. The clinic will be held at the Livingston Senior/Community Center, 204 Hillside Avenue, Livingston, outside at the left-side entrance to the building.
Once November ends, it may seem too late to get a flu vaccine, but this is not true. While it is recommended that those who are six months of age and older receive a flu vaccine by the end of October, getting a flu vaccine later on in the season can still offer protection against the flu.

Whether or not you have already had the flu, you can still catch it as long as flu viruses are circulating. Getting a flu vaccine can help protect you. Though those who get a flu vaccine may still get the flu, the vaccine may result in a milder case and prevent complications.
In accordance with COVID-19 precautions, the flu clinic on December 8 will be held outdoors at the Livingston Senior/Community Center and social distancing will be maintained. Everyone in attendance must wear a mask at all times.
The Livingston Health Department offers the Fluzone Quadrivalent Influenza Vaccine and the High Dose Quadrivalent Influenza Vaccine, licensed for those who are 65 and older. Only adults over the age of 18 can receive a flu shot at the clinic. Please note the Health Department has a limited supply of the High Dose Quadrivalent Influenza Vaccine.
Flu shots are no cost with Medicare Part B. All others cost $20.
For questions about the Flu Clinic, please call the Health Department at 973-535-7961 ext. 227 or 228.
