LIVINGSTON, NJ — There’s one good thing about New Jersey snowstorms… they give people a way to shine in a crisis.

Fresh on the heels of an inspiring tale in West Orange during a surprisingly severe snowstorm on Nov. 15 comes another story of perseverance, this time from Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy in Livingston.

Earlier this month, West Orange’s public school teachers and staff earned kudos from an entire community when they stepped up to the plate after hundreds of students were trapped on buses and in school during the storm. (Read the full article here)

Meanwhile, their peers at Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy took on a similar challenge, feeding, entertaining and safeguarding more than 100 snowed-in students overnight on Nov. 15. According to school administrators, more than 70 commuter students also found refuge from the storm with nearby families in Livingston.
