The Oratorio Society of New Jersey (OSNJ) will get your summer started on the right note with the third annual installment of the return of its "summer sings," where the audience becomes the performers. The event will take place at Newark’s historic Bethany Baptist Church on Wednesday, June 3, at 7 pm.
Choral singers and enthusiasts are invited to join the OSNJ as they sing through one of the most popular and revered choral masterpieces – Mozart’s Requiem. The piece will be conducted by OSNJ's music director Sándor Szabó, with professional soloists and accompaniment. The evening will also include a sampling of the American spirituals that OSNJ recently performed at their spring “America Inspired” concert. The audience is welcome to join in or to listen.
Bring your own scores of Mozart’s Requiem or borrow one of ours. Scores for the spirituals will be provided for those who wish to join in.
There’s free parking in the church parking lot at Hudson and Warren Streets and public transportation via NJ Transit bus route #34. The suggested donation is $15.

Oratorio Society of NJ Hosts Summer Sing – Mozart Requiem and American Spirituals!

Dining, shopping, and dressing up - it doesn’t get much better than that! 
Girls’ Night Out is hosted annually on the first Thursday evening in June. Women from Millburn, Short Hills, and the surrounding towns all head to Downtown Millburn for shopping specials, giveaways, and a dedicated night to explore the shops in their favorite town. Local businesses offer discounts, promos, free swag, special themed items, raffles, games, snacks, and more! A great chance to connect with your favorite businesses in town and discover new ones, all while spending a fun evening out with your girlfriends.
This year’s theme is 90s music, so grab your glitter and get ready to rock!
This year’s event will be centralized to one main area; event will take place on the main stretch of Millburn Ave from the intersection of Town Hall Plaza to the intersection of Lackawanna Place. Plan to park in our parking deck on Essex St (first hour is free!) and walk over to Millburn Ave. Start at one end of the event and make your way down to visit all of our business store-fronts and sidewalk tables. Enjoy live music/DJs as you stroll down the sidewalk and into store-fronts, and be sure to find our “roller girls” to get some fun prizes and complimentary glitter face painting.
Shop until you drop - shop locally for a chance to win! Receive a special EMSH envelope at the event, add all of your shopping receipts the envelope, fill out your info, and drop your envelope full of receipts into one of our mailboxes for a chance to win a $50 gift card to a business of your choice! (10+ winners will be chosen!) Mailbox locations are posted on our website. Shopping contest runs from June 1-June 11.
First 150 attendees will receive a FREE swag bag. Artists and artisans at Riker Hill Art Park open their studios twice a year to adults and children to provide art lovers a chance to see work being created and buy artwork directly from the artists. Demonstrations and hands-on activities are sometimes offered in the studios, and visitors can expect to see a wide range of art from our sculptors, painters, photographer, jewelers, ceramicists, installation artists, fiber artists, glass blowers, weavers and more. Many of our artists exhibit nationally and internationally at museums, universities and other venues.

Riker Hill's Open Studios are free for visitors and open to adults and children.
