Livingston HS Academic Team Triumphs In Quiz Bowl Tourney

LIVINGSTON, NJ — Here’s a quick question… what local high school’s Academic Team recently triumphed at the Princeton Invitational Quiz Bowl tournament?

Livingston High School’s Academic Team turned in an impressive showing at the tournament last month, according to school administrators.

The “A team” of juniors Jonathan Ackerman and Isabella Tang, and seniors Carrie Li and Ben Litvin, defeated East Brunswick High School, 395-295, in the final. Ackerman was the highest individual scorer of the day, and the team qualified for the national tournament in the process, administrators said.

In addition, the “B Team,” consisting of freshmen Carolyn Meng and Rosa Xia and junior Jennifer Zheng, finished fourth overall, losing the third place game on the final question of the final game. Meng was the second highest scorer of the morning, only trailing Ackerman, administrators said.
