LIVINGSTON, NJ — Now brought to you, courtesy of the “Library of Things” in Livingston: telescopes.
On Thursday, just as the summer astronomy viewing season ramps up, the Livingston Public Library reminded locals that a Livingston Library card has a unique benefit… the ability to borrow a telescope.
Local library patrons and astronomy buffs have “maker culture” and the “library of things to thank. Learn more about the program here.

According to a recent message on the LPL website:
“Here at the library we love the philosophy of maker culture: exploring the world through all things related to tinkering, experimentation and creation. And though we’ll always deeply cherish our books and other print-based resources, we’re happy to supplement our collections with a Library of Things, which includes portable makerspace kits (our Ready, Set, Create! Toolkits) and other lendable items such as mobile hotspots, pre-loaded Nooks, sewing machines and telescopes.”
