It’s Final: Livingston Council, BOE Election Results 2016

LIVINGSTON, NJ — One of the most mud-splattered U.S. presidential elections in recent history officially left its mark in Livingston for 2016 when voters weighed in Tuesday. But whose candidates emerged victorious?

According to the Essex County Clerk's Office, the final results are as follows:

Livingston Township Council

26 of 26 districts reported

• Michael M. Silverman (D) - 7,075 votes (50.56 %)
• Alfred M. Anthony (D) - 6,863 votes (49.05 %)

Livingston Board of Education

26 of 26 districts reported

• Samantha Messer - 6,821 votes (40.04 %)
• Michael Ramer - 3,793 votes (22.26 %)
• Barry Funt - 2,484 votes (14.58 %)
• George Shen - 3,894 votes (22.86 %)

Several reported issues and delays were seen across New Jersey on Tuesday, including polling place lines that stretched blocks, a sign that appeared to tell voters that they needed ID to cast a ballot and malfunctioning voting machines.
