Livingston Mall Helps to Boost Food Bank Supplies
Hosts AIA NJ architects' annual "CANstruction" event to benefit Community Food Bank of NJ
Simon’s Livingston Mall will once again host the 18th annual CANstruction event, a design-and-build exhibition that facilitates donations of canned goods to local food bank programs. The event is being held in conjunction with the New Jersey Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA-NJ) and its local AIA Newark and Suburban section.
On October 6, local architect and designer teams will roll up their sleeves and spend eight hours to build a structure comprised of canned goods, while adhering to the chosen theme, interpreting imagery from this year’s Summer Olympic Games™. The creative structures will remain on display through October 16 and at the conclusion of the exhibit, all of the canned items will be donated to the Community Food Bank of New Jersey (CFBNJ).
“Now in our fifth year of hosting this incredible event, we are pleased to continue the CANstruction tradition at Livingston Mall and help boost food bank supplies,” commented Maria Gregorius, area director of marketing and business development for Livingston Mall. “The program is a win-win, helping to drive awareness to this worthy cause while spotlighting the immense talent of the participating local architects and designers.”
