Trio Of Shoplifters Nabbed At Livingston Mall When Cop Spots Waiting Car: Police
A Livingston police officer noticed a running car, then saw a woman head toward it with clothes, then saw the loss prevention officer.
LIVINGSTON, NJ — Three people were charged with shoplifting on Saturday after a Livingston police officer saw a car running with no one in it, then saw a woman heading toward it with bags of clothes.
Police say that at 9:11 p.m. on Sunday night, a Livingston officer on patrol saw a 2012 Infiniti G37 parked, running, and unoccupied in the Macy’s parking lot at the Livingston Mall.
He investigated and saw a fraudulent temporary registration affixed to the vehicle, police said.

Moments later, police say, Tamerra Herd, 36, of Newark came out of Macy's with two bags of clothes and headed to the vehicle.
Then, police say, a Macy’s loss prevention officer exited the store, accusing Herd of just having shoplifted the items.

The loss prevention officer said two other people had shoplifted and were still in the store.
Officers then arrested Kiana Garnett, 28, and Kamad Minitee, 27, both of Newark.
Herd and Minitee were charged with shoplifting and taken to the Essex County Jail on a warrant, police said. Garnett was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and shoplifting and released on a summons, police said.
