Livingston Man Caught At Newark Airport With 35 Bags Of Cocaine: Police

Officers stopped the man at a checkpoint and found 35 bags of suspected cocaine, authorities say.

Newark, NJ – Police arrested a Livingston man at Newark Liberty International Airport on Monday after allegedly finding 35 bags of cocaine in his luggage, authorities said.

According to the Port Authority of NY/NJ, officers arrested Joel Goldstein, 55, of Livingston, after finding 35 plastic bags containing suspected cocaine in his luggage and hand at a Terminal C checkpoint around 3:30 p.m.

A Port Authority spokesman couldn’t confirm the exact total weight of the suspected cocaine, which will be determined by a laboratory.

Authorities charged Goldstein with Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance With Intent to Distribute.

There was no disruption to normal travel as a result of the incident, authorities stated.
