In Livingston: Man Tried To Bleach $5 Bill To Make It Look Like $100, Report Says
An alleged attempt to pass off a doctored $5 bill as a $100 may have cost an Essex County man more than $650, a report says.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — An alleged attempt to pass off a doctored $5 bill as a $100 may have cost an Essex County man more than $650 in addition to jail time, a report says.
According to the Livingston Municipal Court, an Orange resident was recently charged with forgery when he allegedly attempted to bleach a $5 bill and make it look like a $100, TAP Into Livingston reported.
During a municipal court appearance, the charge was reportedly downgraded to theft by deception. As a result, the male suspect was slapped with 30 days jail time and 30 days suspension, in addition to a $500 fine, $33 in court fees, a $50 fine to the VCCB and a $75 fine to the Safe Neighborhood Fund, TAP Into reported.
