Livingston Mathletes Tie For 1st In Essex County Competition
Students from Heritage Middle School and Livingston HS participated in the Essex County Math League competition at Caldwell University.

Students from Heritage Middle School and Livingston High School participated in the Essex County Math League competition at Caldwell University on May 24. The Livingston team tied for first place overall with Millburn.
Livingston took first place in the following categories:

• Geometry: Charles Yu, Guang Lin Wei, Alan Wu, Alan Zhu, Sidhant Srivastava
• Algebra 2: Edward Wang, Nicholas Wang, Aditi Desai, Kevin Chen, Leo Stepanewk

• Statistics: Jonathan Chen, Nishay Bhatnagar, Rebecca Kim, Erin Chang, Ian Hurrel
The following students were first place winners:
• Jonathan Chen – Statistics (two way tie with other schools)
• Nicholas Wang and Edward Wang – Algebra 2 (tied for first place)
• Charles Yu – Geometry
• Andrew Li – Advanced Math (6 way tie with other schools)
• Kishan Bava – Algebra 1 (3 way tie with other schools)
The following student was a second place winner:
• Alan Zhu (tied for second)
“Congratulations to the excellent work by our students! Also, congratulations to the advisors, Dan Brill and Melissa Eisen, and the 7-12 math teachers, for the awesome work they do in their classes to make sure our students are well prepared not only for the competition, but also for their studies in math!” said Antonio Matheus, the school district’s 7-12 mathematics supervisor.
