Livingston Mayor’s Wellness Campaign Earns ‘Healthy Town’ Designation

The Township of Livingston Mayor’s Wellness Campaign committee was awarded the top “Healthy Town” award designation by the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute for 2025.

The Mayor’s Wellness Campaign is a New Jersey statewide initiative that assists mayors and other local community organizations in helping their residents achieve a healthier lifestyle and foster health and wellness within their community.

At the end of each year, towns participating in the campaign can apply to be awarded the Healthy Town designation. In order to achieve the Healthy Town designation, towns must indicate how they researched and addressed community health needs, have an active committee, and provide programs and services that address community health needs.

The Mayor’s Wellness Campaign committee for Livingston identified mental health, physical activity/walkability, and programs for children/youth as focus areas for 2025. During 2025, the Livingston Mayor’s Campaign offered a variety of programs to address these focus areas, some of which included mental health first aid training, an indoor summer walking program, and outreach to homebound/isolated residents to provide programs and services to them.

The Township of Livingston joined the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign in 2025 and will continue to be a part of the campaign to provide additional health and wellness initiatives for our residents.
