Livingston Memorial Day 2017: Parade, Garbage and Recycling

The Livingston Memorial Day Parade will take place on May 29 at the Memorial Oval.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — Get ready for Memorial Day 2017, Livingston. Township officials recently released information about the annual parade, as well as garbage and recycling schedule information for the holiday.

The following information comes courtesy of Livingston Township:

Annual Ceremony and Parade: "The Livingston Memorial Day Parade will take place on Monday, May 29. At 9:30 a.m. on Memorial Oval, there will be a commemorative service for those who have died defending the United States. Following that ceremony, the parade will begin at 10 a.m. The parade will head north on S. Livingston Avenue toward the Town Center, ending at Congressional Way. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremonial service will be held in the Livingston High School Auditorium."

Garbage Collection: "There will be no garbage collection on Monday, May 29. If your normal garbage collection day is Monday, your garbage will be picked up on your next regularly scheduled day, which will be Thursday, June 1."

Recycling Collection: "Recycling will not be collected on Monday, May 29, and collection will move forward 1 day all week. Therefore, Monday’s recycling will instead be picked up on Tuesday, 5/30; Tuesday’s recycling moves to Wednesday, 5/31; Wednesday’s recycling moves to Thursday, 6/1; Thursday’s recycling moves to Friday, 6/2; and Friday’s recycling will instead be picked up on Saturday, 6/3."
