Livingston Nurse Receives Award
Saint Barnabas Medical Center's Evageline Kupyak receives citation.

Livingston resident Evangeline Kupyak, RN, MSN, MBA, CCRN recently received the Presidential Citation Award from the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) for her outstanding contributions of time, energy and commitment to that organization.
She has been a member of SCCM since 2008 and serves on several of its nursing committees including the Norma Shoemaker Nursing Research, Membership, and Nursing Awards Committees.
Certified for 20 years as a critical care nurse, Kupyak has served as the nurse manager of the Cardiac Telemetry Unit at Saint Barnabas Medical Center since 2010.

Under her leadership, the unit earned Certifications of Excellence from The Joint Commission in Acute Coronary Syndrome and Heart Failure. The gold seals of approval from The Joint Commission demonstrate the hospital’s commitment to adhering to the highest standards in caring for patients, before, during and after a cardiac event, from coordinating pre-hospital care with emergency medical services through cardiac rehabilitation.
In addition, Kupyak is an ambassador of the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) and was honored for her commitment and dedication to promoting clinical best practices. She is a member of the Northern New Jersey AACN and the American Nurses Association (ANA). Kupyak earned her nursing degree at Manila Central University and her master’s degrees at Seton Hall University.
