LPD officers are taking precautionary steps, says spokesman.

While the nation’s eyes turn to the rioting taking place in the wake of the death of Freddie Gray, and 150 NJ State Troopers continue their mission to aid Baltimore police, local cops in Livingston are also taking note of a recent BPD warning that gang members may be organizing to “take out” law enforcement officials. According to Marshuetz, the LPD takes extra steps when a warning of this nature is issued, but for “obvious reasons,” he couldn’t go into specifics.
When asked, Marshuetz said that one example is that officers will get backup when they make a traffic stop.
