Livingston Police To Hold 2024 ‘Citizens Academy’

The no-cost, six-week program is designed to give participants an inside look at what it takes to be a police officer in Livingston.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — The Livingston Police Department will be bringing back its Citizens Police Academy for 2024.

According to the LPD, the no-cost, six-week program is designed to give participants an understanding of the operation of the Livingston Police Department and a working knowledge of what law enforcement entails.

“It is hoped that the instruction will strengthen police-community rapport through an educational process, increase understanding of police practices and procedures, and dispose of misconceptions,” the LPD stated. “The police department, in turn, will become more aware of the concerns and questions of the community it serves.”
