Livingston Police Issue Alert To Car Owners: Lock Up
Suspects recently used a garage door remote stolen from a car to access a Livingston home, police say.

A recent rise in car break-ins has prompted the Livingston Police Department to issue a common-sense warning to local vehicle owners… lock your doors.
On Monday, the LPD issued the following message via social media:
“We would like to remind residents to please lock your cars at night. Recently we have had several cars entered in middle of the night. All of the cars were left unlocked. In our most recent incident the suspects utilized a garage door remote from a car in the driveway and entered the house from within the garage and burglarized the house. In response we have stepped up patrols and detectives are following up on leads. We need your assistance too.”

“OMG. Our street? That is scary,” a woman replied.
A woman summed up the police message in a succinct comment:
“They are not break-ins. They should be called ‘walk-ins’ and help yourself.”
