Livingston’s St. Barnabas Gets Nod As ‘Top Teaching Hospital’
St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston was among just nine New Jersey hospitals to earn the Leapfrog designation this year.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — A trio of RWJBarnabas Health facilities, including Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, recently earned a nod as “Top Teaching Hospitals in 2017” from national nonprofit The Leapfrog Group.
St. Barnabas – along with the other two nominees, Jersey City Medical Center and Monmouth Medical Center – were among just nine hospitals recognized in New Jersey this year, the group stated.
It’s the fourth consecutive year that St. Barnabas has earned the distinction, hospital administrators said.

The Leapfrog designation considers factors such as infection rates, maternity care, and the hospital’s “capacity to prevent medication errors.” See the full methodology here.
