Livingston School Admin. Earns ‘Distinguished Service Award’

LIVINGSTON, NJ — One of the best things about Steven Robinson’s 2019 Distinguished Service Award? He gets to pay some of the good vibes forward.
Robinson, business administrator and board secretary of the Livingston Public School District, was recently honored by the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials (NJASBO) with a 2019 Distinguished Service Award, which recognizes business administrators for their “long-term, continuous exemplary service.”
Robinson is among four 2019 Distinguished Service Award recipients that were chosen from across the state.

As part of the award, Robinson will get to present a $1,000 scholarship from NJASBO to a student in the Livingston school district, administrators said.

“A resident of Marlboro, Mr. Robinson earned his bachelor’s degree from Rider University. He has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1989. Before joining Livingston Public Schools in 1998, Mr. Robinson served as the assistant business administrator, and then as the business administrator and board secretary, for the Middletown Township school district from 1992 to 1998. Mr. Robinson has earned the trust of the Board of Education and the community over the course of many years. In addition to his fiscal responsibilities he is responsible for all school buildings and grounds. He is also the liaison between the school district and the township. Mr. Robinson has been instrumental in monitoring many of the joint projects that have benefited the Livingston community.”
In addition to fulfilling his responsibilities at LPS, Robinson currently serves as a trustee of the NJ Schools Insurance Group and chairman of the North Jersey Educational Insurance Fund.
