LIVINGSTON, NJ — Fang Gong has won a seat on the Livingston Board of Education, beating her opponent by a 2:1 margin.

After Gong faced off against Harshavardhan Raju for one seat on the five-member school board, the vote totals with 100 percent of districts reporting were 2,840 votes to 1,615.

Some paper ballots were likely mailed on Tuesday and have not yet been counted, but will not be enough to change the outcome. The final results will be posted here.

Gong ran on a platform of "Excellence Empathy and Equity." She has volunteered in the schools and library. She holds a master’s degree in Public Administration from Rutgers, and a master’s certificate in Project Management from George Washington University. She completed the New Leadership training program at the Center for American Women and Politics, Eagleton Institute of Politics.
