Livingston Schools Roll Out Online Kindergarten Registration
Here's how to enroll your child for kindergarten in Livingston.

Livingston, NJ – The Livingston Public School District has now begun online kindergarten pre-registration for children who turn five-years-old on or before Oct. 1, 2016.
According to school officials, the online pre-registration is new this year in Livingston and is expected to streamline the enrollment process, making it easier and more convenient for parents and guardians to complete preliminary information.
Instructions and information are posted on the district website here.

The online portion is pre-registration only, and students will not be considered enrolled until parents/guardians submit the required information during an in-person registration process set by appointment, school administrators stated.
Information to be entered into the computer system includes the child’s name, date of birth, birth certificate record number, primary language, and insurance. Legal resident information is also required, school administrators stated.

The new online system will also be used for all students new to the district, school officials stated.
Students entering grades 1-12, for example, will also be required to download a Records Request, among other forms listed on the website.
Parents seeking to schedule an appointment to finalize the registration or without computer access can contact Amy Ennis at 973-535-8000, ext. 8002, or aennis@livingston.org.
Applicants should bring all documents to the appointment; children do not need to accompany parents.
Parents who have other children currently attending a Livingston elementary school must also complete this pre-registration and appointment process for their incoming kindergarten student, school administrators said.
More information is available on the LPS website, including entrance ages and residency requirements.
“If you believe that an additional year at home would be in your child’s best interest, it is permissible for him/her to enter kindergarten the following year,” school administrators stated. “Should you have questions about this option, please call Mrs. Ennis to arrange to have one of Livingston’s principals discuss this matter with you.”
Parents/guardians will be notified of their child’s assigned school by June 1, 2016.
For more information regarding the assignment of pupils, refer to Policy 5120, which can be found on the district’s website in the policy section, under the Board of Education tab.
Student and parent kindergarten orientations will take place in June in the schools.
