Livingston Schools Set To Welcome New Principals At Burnet Hill, Collins
The Livingston School District will also welcome new admins at LHS and Heritage, as well as a new ELA supervisor.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — Livingston will say hello to five new administrators, including multiple principals, at its public schools this year, district administrators recently announced.
According to the Livingston Public School District, the incoming administrators include Sara Bright as the new principal of Burnet Hill Elementary School, Timothy Hart as the new principal at Collins Elementary School, Amro Mohammed as Dean of Students for LHS and Heritage, Chrystie Young as assistant principal at Heritage Middle School, and Leala Baxter as ELA Supervisor Grades PreK-6.

SARA BRIGHT
Mrs. Bright brings extensive experience to Livingston. She has been serving as principal and elementary supervisor for Edison Public Schools.

With 12 years of experience in education – she’s worked as an instructional aide, teacher, literacy coach, instructional supervisor, and principal – Mrs. Bright possesses two master’s degrees, the first in curriculum and instruction, and the second in the Literacy Specialist Program at Teachers College.
As a principal in Edison, she has managed a school of 450 K-5 students, including two self-contained classrooms. Among her achievements, she piloted the Tools of the Mind kindergarten program to promote self-regulation through thematic dramatization. As an elementary supervisor in Edison, she planned professional development and implementation of a new math program.

TIMOTHY HART
Mr. Hart is currently Principal of Lincoln Elementary School in Edison and has 13 years of experience in education, beginning his career as a fifth-grade teacher. Himself a lifelong learner, Mr. Hart earned a master’s in education administration and supervision from Rutgers University and a master’s of science for teachers from Fordham University in childhood education. He received his bachelor’s degree from Fordham in English and women’s studies.

AMRO MOHAMMED
Mr. Mohammed is the Dean of Discipline and Crisis Intervention for Jersey City Public Schools. He has also served in the U.S. Marine Corps (active duty) and U.S. Air Force, Air War College.

LEALA BAXTER
Leala Baxter has been named Livingston’s new Supervisor of English Language Arts (ELA) for Grades PreK-6.
Ms. Baxter comes to Livingston from the Sparta Township School District. She served as Curriculum Supervisor for ELA, responsible for implementing instructional programs and serving as coordinator of Instructional Intervention and the Special Education liaison.
Previously, she was Supervisor of Curriculum, Instruction and Technology Integration K-8 for Tewksbury Township School District.
She has also worked as a reading specialist, literacy coordinator, and elementary teacher, all for the Allamuchy Township School District.
Ms. Baxter is assuming the position of ELA Supervisor following Marybeth Kopacz’s promotion to the newly created position Director of Curriculum, Instruction & Professional Development.

CHRYSTIE YOUNG
Ms. Young is currently the district science coordinator K-12 for Lindenhurst Public Schools in New York.
