Livingston Science Olympiad Champs Bring Home Oodles Of Medals

The Livingston High School Science Olympiad team had an exciting day at the regional tournament held at NJIT on Friday, January 12. The team came in first place in the competition, with students taking home medals in almost all of the events. The team will be competing in the state finals tournament on Tuesday, March 13, at Middlesex County Community College, as well as an invitational tournament on Saturday, February 10, at Princeton University.

“As advisors, we continue to be impressed by how dedicated, diligent, and innovative our Science Olympiad students are,” said Megan DeBlieck, one of the team’s advisors. “We are looking forward to participating in the state competition in March.”

The following team members brought home medals in their events: Carrie Li and Aditi Desai (5th Place, Anatomy and Physiology); Isabella Tang and Katherine Chen (3rd Place, Astronomy); Sunny Chen and Alisha Zhu (2nd Place, Disease Detectives); Selene Li and Alisha Zhu (3rd Place, Ecology); Christie Hung, Selene Li and Jackie Chan (1st Place, Experimental Design); Jenny Zheng and Katherine Chen (1st Place, Helicopter); Jenny Zheng and Eashan Bagia (5th Place, Mission Possible); Caleb Chow, Sam Roy and Sally Weng (4th Place, Protein Modeling); Andy Jiang and Catherine Yu (2nd Place, Rocks and Minerals); Jenny Zheng and Katherine Chen (1st Place, Towers); and Eileen Deng and Eashan Bagia (1st Place, Write It/Do It). Other participating team members include Andrew Li, Gracie Zhang, and Andy Weng.
