Livingston Skate Park Committee Holds BBQ Fundraiser

Money raised benefits improvements to the Livingston Skate Park.

The Livingston Skate Park Committee was grilling up lunch at the Farmer’s Market on Thursday, to help raise funds for the Phase II improvements to the Skate Park.

The park is located between the YMCA and the Municipal Building on Livingston Avenue. The committee needs to raise $15,000 to pay for new construction of a bowl and mini-ramp for the local skaters to enjoy.

For a $5.00 donation, lunch included hamburgers and hot dogs, as well as soda and a bag of chips.

The best part of this deal was that in addition to having a delicious luch, local merchants from the Farmer’s Market donated condiments, including juicy Jersey Fresh tomatoes and onions from Ort Farms, gourmet sweet and sour pickles of all kinds from Doctor Pickle, award winning hot sauces from Defcon Sauces, delectable baked goods from Gina’s Bakery, delicious stuffed breads from High Mountain Foods, and gourmet spreadable cheeses from Savory Cheese Cakes.

A meal this good was worth twice the price.

Jordan Guenther, Director of Property Management at Eastman Management Company, which owns The Village property, said they were glad to donate the space to the Market and the opportunity to support charities and causes in the community.

The next Skate Park fundraiser will be on Friday, August 19th
at the Livingston Skate Park from 6:00 – 10:00pm.  Come and enjoy a night under the lights while listening to live performances by bands, Plane Crash Dialect and Handed to the Thousands

Food including hot dogs and hamburgers, soft drinks and more will be available for purchase, as well, for a suggested $5.00 per person donation that will go towards the Phase II construction plans.
