Township Trees:
Township trees are those located within the 10’ right of way – the area beginning at the curbline and extending 10’ back toward the home.
The Township’s DPW will continue to handle disposing of trees and brush from Township trees and those that had fallen into the street during the storm.
If a Township tree has fallen on or become entangled in wires or is creating a hazardous situation, residents should call the DPW at 973-992-5000 ext. #5522.
Non-Township Trees:
Trees not located within the 10’ right of way are not Township trees; cleaning up and disposing of those is the property owner’s responsibility.
Smaller branches can be tied in bundles in lengths up to 4’ in length and weighing less than 50 lbs. Once bundled, those branches can be put at the curb with regular garbage for pickup on your regularly scheduled garbage collection day.
Garbage collection vendor Waste Industries, LLC, reminds residents that branches must be left at the curb, even if the resident has rear-yard garbage collection.
Waste Industries will not collect branches left anywhere other than at the curbline.
For more information on disposing of debris from non-Township trees, residents may contact Waste Industries, LLC, at 908-436-1966 or email info@waste-industries.com.
