Livingston Symphony Orchestra Presents "Halloween Spooktacular"

On Saturday, October 27, the LSO will play a concert program followed by a viewing of Frankenstein with the score performed live.

The Livingston Symphony Orchestra's "Halloween Spooktacular" Concert and Film comes to Mt. Pleasant Middle School (11 Broadlawn Drive, Livingston) on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 7:30 pm.

Conjured up by Maestro Anthony La Gruth, the concert program begins with Dukas’ fanciful "Sorcerer’s Apprentice," a work made popular in the film Fantasia.

Next, Saint Saens’ "Danse Macabre" describes a midnight on Halloween where skeletons rise from graves and dance until dawn. The final piece, Grieg’s "In the Hall of the Mountain King," depicts an unearthly dark cavern where trolls, goblins, and gnomes join in a frantic and bizarre reel.

Following these three scary pieces, La Gruth and the LSO musicians attempt to bring Frankenstein to life by showing the 1931 horror classic movie while performing Shapiro’s haunting musical score live under the dialogue of the film.
