Livingston Town Council Approves $42.43 Million Budget

The average homeowner will see a $95 tax increase.

The Livingston Town Council approved a $42.43 million municipal budget following a public hearing on Monday.

The budget will include a 3.1 percent increase to the property tax levy, which will mean a $95 tax hike for a homeowner with a property valued at $604,123.

According to a statement from Township Manager Michele Meade, tax appeal refunds, debt service, solid waste disposal, public works salaries and gasoline costs are all significantly reduced for 2015.

However, retirement payments, police salaries, public library costs, capital improvements and health insurance payments will increase.

  • Engineering, Planning and Public Works - $3,736,125
  • Free Public Library - $3,512,982
  • Administrative and Executive - $2,918,516
  • Construction Code and Property Maintenance - $1,068,620
  • Fire Department - $733,901
  • Health and Human Services - $720,448
  • Senior, Youth and Leisure Services - $654,130
  • Municipal Court - $313,800
