Livingston Township: Edgemere Will Stay Open

Council votes to keep road open at recommendation of police department.

Edgemere Road will remain open.

On Monday, the Livingston Township Council voted to keep the road open at the intersection of Scotland Drive. The council had previously considered shutting down the section of road due to resident complaints and safety concerns.

According to a report, the municipal police department recommended leaving the road open, and the township manager suggested multiple alternatives to a total closure:

· Installing a permanent stop sign at Scotland Drive

· Installing a “no outlet” or “no thru traffic” at the West Northfield Avenue entrance

· Incorporating striping and signage techniques into the road reconstruction portion of upper Edgemere Road

The next council meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 23.
