The Township of Livingston will hold its second Electronics Recycling and Paper Shredding Event of the year :

Sunday, June 12, 2022 9 am - 2 pm Senior/Community Center, 204 Hillside Avenue.
Residents are reminded that under New Jersey state law and the Township’s recycling ordinance, it is mandatory to recycle electronic items. Electronic items cannot be placed at the curb for pickup – the garbage and recycling collection trucks will not take them.

Electronics Recycling
The following items will be accepted for electronic recycling:
* Erase hard drive/memory
+No TVs or screens accepted with broken glass or sharp edges

Lightbulbs
Fluorescent “swirl” bulbs and tubes up to 4’ in length are accepted at the Township’s Electronics Recycling Events. Regular “Edison” — incandescent — bulbs at not accepted; dispose of those with regular household garbage.
Paper Shredding
All types of confidential paper documents will be accepted for shredding. These personal paper documents will be shredded and recycled on site at Livingston’s 9 am to 2 pm event on June 12.
Livingston residents may bring up to five boxes of papers per household to be shredded. The service is provided for Livingston residents only — businesses (including home-based) and institutions are not eligible.
Residents are reminded that the following will not be accepted:
- hard-cover books
- three-ring binders
- paper clips
- CDs
- computer disks
- pendaflex-type folders
- other fastened documents
Early Drop Off for Electronics
Early drop off is available for electronics items only as follows:
- Friday, June 10, from 8:30 am –10 pm
- Saturday, June 11, from 8:30 am – 10 pm
During these times, residents can bring electronics to Craft Room 2 on the lower level of the Livingston Senior/Community Center.
Confidential papers to be shredded and bulbs for recycling cannot be dropped off prior to the event.
