Livingston Needs You!

The Mayor and Township Council make appointments to the many Township advisory committees at the Township’s annual organizational meeting on New Year’s Day.

The Council members are encouraging new residents and those who have not previously been active in the community to serve on Township committees. A Bi-Partisan Advisory Committee on Committee Appointments will begin meeting in early December to review submissions and make recommendations to the Council.

The members of the Livingston Town Council are encouraging residents to get involved in the community by volunteering on official Township committees

Opportunities to Make A Difference

Appointments will be made to a large number of committees, including:

• Advisory Committee on Transportation
• Arts Council of Livingston
• Blue Ribbon Committee on the Redevelopment of the Livingston Mall
• Committee for Diversity and Inclusion
• Committee for Social Justice
• Committee on Utilization of the Licari and Strahman Tracts
• Consumer Affairs Committee
• Livingston Animal Shelter Committee
• Welcome to Livingston Committee

Other areas offering volunteer opportunities:

Working with youth and/or seniors

• Age-Friendly Community Initiative Committee (Livingston For All Ages)
• Livingston Advisory Committee for Disabilities (LACD)
• Livingston Municipal Alliance Committee (LMAC)
• Senior Advisory Committee
• Vision 20/20 Committee (a committee which is looking at the future of the community)

Environmental and recreational concerns

• Livingston Green Team Committee
• Recycling & Reclamation Committee
• Trails and Greenways Committee

• Livingston Public Broadcasting Committee (LTV)

When vacancies exist, appointments will be made by the Township Council to the Planning Board, Zoning Board of Adjustment, Livingston Environmental Commission, Open Space Committee, Local Assistance Board and the Library Board of Trustees.
