Livingston's Newark Academy Evacuated: Police Sound All-Clear

Livingston police and the Essex County Sheriff Bomb Squad responded to the school on Monday morning on a report of a suspicious package.

Authorities temporarily evacuated Newark Academy in Livingston on Monday morning after receiving a report of a suspicious package.

According to Sgt. John Hickey of the Livingston Police Department:

“The Livingston Police Department responded to Newark Academy on a report of a suspicious package. The Essex County Sheriff Bomb Squad also responded and deemed the package safe. Students and faculty safely returned to the building. Investigation is continuing on this matter.”
