2 Men, 2 Teens Busted In Perfume Shoplifting Incident At Livingston Store

A 65-year-old man and three men ages 17-20 were arrested for shoplifting and conspiracy after an incident at a Livingston store Sunday.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — A 65-year-old man and three men between the ages of 17 and 20 were charged with shoplifting at a Livingston store on Monday afternoon, after a police officer stopped their fleeing vehicle, police said.

The older man was also charged with use of a juvenile to commit a criminal offense, police said.

Police said that at 4:31 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 20, officers responded to Ulta Beauty 530 W Mt. Pleasant Ave.

Store employees told police that thieves entered the store and stole several bottles of perfume and cologne valued at over $2,000.

Employees told police the males had fled the store in a Jeep.

A Livingston police officer was able to stop the suspects' vehicle at the Livingston traffic circle, police said.

Four suspects, all from the Bronx, were arrested. They were:

  • Kenneth Ford, 65: charged with receiving stolen property and conspiracy and use of a juvenile to commit a criminal offense. He was released with a summons to appear in court.
  • Anthony Urena, 19: charged with receiving stolen property, conspiracy, and shoplifting. Released with a summons.
  • Alex Jesus Abreu, 20: charged with receiving stolen property, conspiracy, and shoplifting. Released with summons.
  • Juvenile male, 17. Released to guardian and charges pending with Juvenile Detective Bureau, police say.
