Menorah Lighting Set For Wednesday In Livingston

LIVINGSTON, NJ — Hanukkah began at sundown Sunday, and a menorah lighting with be held at the Camuso holiday display in Livingston on Wednesday, Dec. 21.

The Camuso Holiday Display opens each night at 5 p.m. through Dec. 31. It's in memory of Livingston-based toymaker Ernie Camuso, who used to light up a display at his private home each year.

Hanukkah is the Hebrew word for dedication. The eight-day observance commemorates the Jews rising up against their Greek-Syrian oppressors, who wanted to suppress their religion and worship. The Jewish Maccabean Revolt took place in Second Century B.C.
