Museum Dumps Chris Christie Bobblehead Dolls
Less than 200 Chris Christie bobbleheads sold at the original price of $20. The new price matches his plummeting approval rating: $13.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — “They’re gonna miss me when I’m gone.” Maybe so, Chris Christie. But most of them won’t miss your bobblehead dolls.
As New Jersey residents prepare to bid their enormously unpopular exiting governor farewell on Jan. 16, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum announced Wednesday that it will be dumping hundreds of overstocked Chris Christie bobblehead dolls, leftover remnants from a line of toys created during the Republican’s failed presidential run in 2016.

The dolls, originally priced at $20, are now marked down to $13, the same number as Christie’s most recent approval rating in New Jersey, according to a recent Rutgers-Eagleton poll.

Christie, who was born in Newark and graduated from Livingston High School, announced his 2016 presidential aspirations at his high school alma mater in June of 2015, becoming the first former or sitting New Jersey governor to launch a presidential bid since Woodrow Wilson.

“With Christie’s time in office coming to an end, we thought now would be a great time to clear out the rest of the bobbleheads,” said National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum Co-Founder and CEO Phil Sklar.
“[Christie’s] approval rating made for a pretty good sale price, so we went with it,” Sklar said. “Maybe a bobblehead of Christie on a bridge or at the beach would have gone over better, but we decided not to take the risk after our experience with this one.”
