NCJW/Essex Center for Women is Recipient of Local Professional Clothing Drive

Livingston, NJ, July 3, 2018 -- As part of a local professional clothing donation drive, 23 boxes of new and gently used work-appropriate clothing were donated to the NCJW/Essex Career Closet, located in Livingston, NJ. Pictured (left to right) are the co-chairs of the Career Closet with the organizers of the drive: Barbara Hauser (NCJW/Essex), organizers Shad Ronayne and Dee Kersey, Beverly Trust (NCJW/Essex) and Isabel Margolin (NCJW/Essex). The Career Closet is a project of the Linda & Rudy Slucker NCJW/Essex Center for Women. The Center helps women in transition return to work by offering one-on-one job counseling, computer classes, self-esteem and job readiness programs as well as financial and legal workshops. According to Sue Wasserman, NCJW/Essex Director of Community Services, “The Career Closet outfits nearly 200 women each year with work-appropriate clothing. NCJW/Essex volunteers act as personal shoppers to help our clients feel confident and ready when they return to work.” Appointments at the NCJW/Essex Career Closet are by agency referral only.
