NJ Transit Plans to Cut Bus Service to Livingston Mall
Service cuts would cancel trains in Hoboken on the Montclair-Boonton line, as well as buses at the Livingston Mall.

NJ Transit will host a series of upcoming public hearings regarding a planned nine percent fare hike, and service cuts that include the elimination of bus service between Livingston Mall and Mack-Cali.
As the transportation agency prepares to deal with a potential $60 million budget gap, riders are being faced with the prospect of a nine percent fare hike and service cuts that may affect thousands of commuters who pass through Hoboken or use bus service in Livingston. [See related Patch article]
Frustrated NJ Transit riders will get an opportunity to voice their concerns and to offer input on the proposed changes during a series of upcoming public hearings in May:

- Changes affecting the 872 Morristown - Route 10 – Livingston bus line will be discussed during a hearing from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., on Thursday, May 21, at the Morristown Town Hall Senior Community Center, 3rd floor, 200 South Street, Morristown.
- Changes affecting the Montclair-Boonton Line will be discussed during hearings from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., on Tuesday, May 19, at the Frank R. Lautenberg Rail Station at the intersection of County Road and County Avenue in Secaucus, and from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., on Wednesday, May 20, at the NJ Transit Headquarters Board Room, 1 Penn Plaza East in Newark.
“Please be assured that no final decisions have been made,” the agency states on its website. “Your views on the proposals, as expressed at public hearings and/or information sessions will be presented to the NJ Transit Board of Directors prior to a final decision in these matters.”
