Nutrition Advice Given At Celiac Awareness Event In Livingston

The Kogan Celiac Center of RWJBarnabas Health held a "Celiac Awareness Month" event in partnership with ShopRite of Livingston.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — The Kogan Celiac Center of RWJBarnabas Health recently held a “Celiac Awareness Month Pop-Up Event” in partnership with ShopRite of Livingston to help bring awareness to celiac disease.

Last month, Elle Bernardo, a dietitian from the local ShopRite, was one of the specialists on hand that greeted local residents at the Barnabas Health Ambulatory Care Center on South Orange Avenue in Livingston.

The event – which also included Robert Schuman, a gastroenterologist and the center’s medical director and Michelle Pasia, program coordinator – featured samples of gluten-free food and nutritional counseling.
