Livingston football plays final preseason scrimmage.

The Ridge Red Devils hosted the Livingston Lancers for a pre-season football scrimmage Thursday evening at Lee Field, Basking Ridge. The scrimmage was played in a game-like format and was officiated by a full staff of referees. The teams did not have rosters or wear the uniform numbers they will wear during the season.

The game is the last full game event before the teams begin their regular season September 9th.

Ridge won the game 28-3.

Livingston head varsity football coach Barry Kostibos was positive about his team's performance. "I felt we played well. A lot of good things happened and we got to play a lot of people. I am pleased with the perfomance. We moved the ball, threw the ball and played good defense.  We know what we have to do, now we just have to go back and practice."

The Star-Ledger has named Livingston's Andrew Egner among the quarterbacks to keep an eye on.
