Parade, Dance, Daylong Events Planned For Livingston Fire Department 100th Anniversary
A parade, truck show, contests, and a "Block Dance" will fill the daylong celebration for the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department.
LIVINGSTON, NJ — The Livingston Fire Department is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, and residents are invited to participate in a day-long celebration. The organizers are also seeking people to sponsor the event, donate prizes, and more.
"For an entire century, the members of the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department have volunteered to provide protection to the community," said an announcement this week.
The day-long celebration will be held Oct. 1 with a parade, displays of fire equipment, games for adults and kids, and a beer garden.

A traditional "Block Dance," like those held from 1955 to 1979, will be held at night. Organizers will re-create the "Block Dance atmosphere," they say, with live music, line dancing, square dancing, vintage outfits, food, carnival games, and prizes.
The event will be held at the Memorial Park Oval.
