Pedestrian Fatality In Livingston; Newark Man Passes Away: PD
A car struck a Newark resident in Livingston on South Orange Avenue, authorities said.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — A Newark resident passed away after a car struck him while he was walking on South Orange Avenue in Livingston last weekend, authorities said.
On Saturday, John L. Peebles, 51, of Newark, was struck and killed while walking eastbound on South Orange Avenue in Livingston at 11:16 p.m., according to a joint statement from Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens II and Livingston Police Chief Gary Marshuetz.
Peebles was pronounced dead around 11:44 p.m., police said.

The driver of the car remained at the scene; no charges have been filed, authorities said Tuesday. A police investigation continues. No additional information was immediately available.
