LIVINGSTON, NJ — Picking up the phone turned out to be a bad idea for one alleged scammer in Livingston last week, police said.

The Livingston police said that they got a call on the afternoon of Aug. 16 from a man who said he got an email about a fraudulent phone account that was opened in his name. A phone was ordered in his name as well, he told police.

The phone was scheduled to be delivered to the man's former residence on Spier Drive the following day, so the police had a plan.
