Police Chase Vehicle Onto Highway After Livingston Burglary Call, Make 1 Arrest
A police chase in Livingston resulted in charges for one suspect in a home burglary attempt.
LIVINGSTON, NJ — After responding to a call about a home burglary in Livingston last weekend, police chased two men and apprehended one.
Police said that at 3:23 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 22, Livingston officers responded to a Chelsea Drive home on a report of multiple suspects attempting to break in.
Police said that when they arrived, a stolen vehicle was parked in front of the house.

Police said that the suspects got into the stolen vehicle and fled. Police chased them to Route 280 but had to stop the pursuit.
However, the vehicle eventually became disabled, police said, and the suspects fled on foot.

Police were able to catch and arrest Damion Williams, 28, from Hillside. He was charged with receiving a stolen vehicle, resisting arrest, conspiracy to commit theft, and criminal attempted burglary. His charges were placed on a warrant and he was taken to the Essex County Jail.
The Livingston Detective Bureau is continuing the investigation, they said.
Also, on Oct. 18, police responded to a Stratford Drive home on a report of an attempted burglary the previous night. Police met with the homeowner, who said they awoke to find the gate opened to their rear yard. Surveilance video showed several people trying and failing to break in.
"It is believed the suspects were attempting to steal the homeowner’s vehicle," police said. The Livingston Detective Bureau is investigating.
