Police Seek Help Identifying Suspected Shoplifter
The following information was supplied by the Livingston Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Livingston police have released a surveillance photo of a woman suspected of shoplifting at Things of Beauty, a beauty salon at 19 W. Mount Pleasant Ave.
The woman allegedly walked out the store with a flat iron and 10 bottles of nail polish valued at $290. According to the police report, the incident happened at 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 17.

Livingston police are also reviewing surveillance photos from another shoplifting report, this time at the Wine Legend on Eisenhower Parkway at The Village of Livingston.
According to Det. Sgt. Anthony Dippold a group of males entered the store around 5:45 p.m. Saturday, June 18. They purchased two items then walked to the NJ Transit stop and boarded a bus. The store manager an hour later reported to police that six bottles of Johnnie Walker Blue, an expensive Scotch Whisky, were missing. The whisky’s value is $1,100.

Livingston police were busy with three other shoplifting arrests, all at the Livingston Mall.
On Friday, June 17 at 3 p.m., police arrested two 17-year-old juveniles at Hollister after they allegedly tried to shoplift $143 worth of clothing. The teens, from Orange and East Orange, were released to the custody of their parents. The boys’ names were not released because of their age.
A half-hour later on Friday, police arrested Patricia Mielnicki, 41, of Roseland for allegedly shoplifting $48 worth of faux jewelry from Sears. She was released pending a court appearance in Livingston Municipal Court.
Also on Friday, police arrested a 14-year-old girl from Newark who allegedly removed sensor tags from clothing at American Eagle. The clothing was worth $62. She was charged with shoplifting and released to the custody of a parent. The charges were referred to Family Court in Newark, according to the police report.
On Saturday, police charged an 18-year-old woman from Newark with shoplifting earrings from Lord & Taylor. Tyan Harvey allegedly fled the store after taking four sets of earrings worth $320. She was caught at the corner of South Orange Avenue and Eisenhower Parkway, according to the police report. The case is being reviewed by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office. Harvey was released on her own recognizance.
