Popular Dog Parade And Contest Will Return To Park Near Livingston

Bring a dog or just come to see the zany costumes in the "Strut Your Mutt" parade and contests in Essex County. There are prizes.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A popular Halloween dog costume contest and parade will return to three Essex County parks — including one nearby in Caldwell — later this month.

“Whether you own a dog or not, we invite you to come see creative costumes worn by dogs
of all breeds," Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo Jr. said.

  • Essex County Grover Cleveland Park, Caldwell and Essex Fells, Brookside Avenue and Runnymede Road, Saturday, Oct. 29, registration 1 p.m., parade 1:30.
  • Essex County Branch Brook Dog Park, Heller Parkway, Newark, Saturday, Oct. 22, registration 9:30, parade 10 a.m.
  • Essex County Brookdale Dog Park, Grove Street, Montclair, Oct. 29, registration 9 a.m., parade 9:30 a.m.

Participation is free. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third places in a variety of categories. For more information, call 973-268-3500.
