Poster Contest For Kids

Submissions being accepted for October Tails.

Elementary school students throughout Essex, Morris and Union Counties are invited to participate in the 3rd annual poster contest for October Tails, a Halloween-themed dog walk and costume contest to benefit the Saint Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center's (SBHPCC) canine therapy program, Paws for Patients.

Pictured here is the 2009 Best in Show Winner Cole Smith of Verona, who wowed judges with a sketch of his West Highland White Terrier, Arabel (also pictured).

October Tails will be held on Sunday, October 24 (rain date October 30), from 1 – 4:30 p.m. in Verona Park.  The event features children's activities, agility demonstrations, obedience games, vendors, a pet caricaturist and more.
