LIVINGSTON, NJ — The fitness “barre” has been raised in Livingston.

Pure Barre recently launched a new location at 1150 Town Center Way in Livingston. A grand opening event is scheduled for Saturday, July 27 and Sunday, July 28, with free classes, special offers, local vendors, “small bites” and raffle prizes.

According to a company news release, Pure Barre is a “total body workout that focuses on a series of low-impact, high-intensity movements.”

Pure Barre Livingston is owned and operated by Alex Zaltsman, a local entrepreneur and fitness aficionado.

Zaltsman said the idea to own a Pure Barre came when he grew frustrated with the personal training environment of “big box gyms.”

“There are all these high-impact concepts popping up around the area, but what about all the members of the community that either can’t, or simply don’t want to, participate in something like that?” Zaltsman asked. “There is this stigma that in order to be fit you are screamed at by a trainer who looks like they walked out of a Mr. Universe tournament. I want to provide an environment for the Livingston community that anyone at any fitness level to come in and leave feeling like they spent their time wisely, got a great workout and can’t wait to come back.”

In addition to Pure Barre Livingston, Zaltsman is opening another boutique rowing concept backed by the same parent company, Xponential fitness, next door. A “low-impact boutique fitness concept,” Row House will offer high-intensity classes for every fitness level. It’s slated to open by the end of 2019.

Pure Barre Livingston is open seven days a week. The studio can be reached online at purebarre.com, by text/phone at (973) 500-6655, or email via livingston@purebarre.com.
