Traffic Delays: Crash Closes Stretch of Route 10

Road is closed from traffic circle to Hillside Ave. as crews repair utility pole broken after crash Friday morning.

A utility pole leaning precariously over the road after an accident earlier today has closed a section of Route 10 between the traffic circle and Hillside Avenue, Livingston police said. Traffic is tied up on Route 10 and the road is expected to remain closed through rush hour as crews replace the pole and reattach downed wires.

The accident is still under investigation. Police said a van traveling on West Mount Pleasant Avenue at 11 a.m. Friday hit the pole and overturned. The traffic unit is investigating and no other details are available. Minor injuries were reported.

“Traffic is going to be very heavy through rush hour,” said Det. Sgt. Anthony Dippold.
